We hope you’ve all had a restful holiday, and that Winter classes are going well. Before midterms start to take up all your free time the UCSYR Executive Committee would like to welcome you to our first Winter event! The following are all the necessary details:
As an opportunity to get more involved with UCSYR, and get to know the executive members, our Winter MEET ‘n’ GREET is:
Tuesday, January 29, 2013 @ 7 PM in TFDL Rm 260J
This includes:
- 7 PM: A presentation by a fourth year biomedical student regarding her research in Uganda. You may read her article at the following link: http://www.ucalgary.ca/news/utoday/december17-2012/postcard
- 7:30 PM: A brief summary of the plans UCSYR has outlined for this semester, and a SHORT WORKSHOP on summer studentship opportunities (AIHS, NSERC, USRP, and PURE)
- GAMES NIGHT! YAY! (Feel free to bring your own interactive games)
Cost:
- If you are a MEMBER this event is FREE
- If you are a member and would like to bring a friend along, the cost is $1/friend
- If you would like full access to all of our upcoming winter events, Winter memberships will be sold for $3/person
